POSTONED: The Commission's Final Report

Due to Washington's inclement weather and the forecast of more to come soon, we have decided to postpone the February 10th Launch of the Report of the CSIS Commission on Smart Global Health Policy. We will soon provide updated information on our revised plans for the launch.

The Center for Strategic and International Studies is pleased to invite you to the release of the final report of the CSIS Commission on Smart Global Health Policy. This event marks the culmination of nine months of deliberation by the Commission. It will provide an overview of the Commission’s recommendations on the U.S. commitment to fight AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria; the health of women and children; the organization and coordination of the U.S. government; the prevention of health emergencies; and U.S. engagement with multilateral institutions. Seventeen of the twenty-five commissioners will be present to discuss the group’s findings. Senior figures from the Obama Administration have been invited to deliver remarks. A more specific agenda is forthcoming.

Commission cochairs Admiral William J. Fallon, U.S. Navy (ret.) and Helene Gayle, President and CEO, CARE will present the report's final recommendations followed by a panel discussion among select commissioners. Opening remarks will be delivered by John J. Hamre, President and CEO of CSIS.
