Thomas R. Pickering

Thomas R. Pickering served as President of International Relations of Boeing Co. until April, 2006 and served as its Senior Vice President of International Relations since January 2001.

Prior thereto, Mr. Pickering was U.S. Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs since May 1997. He served as U.S. Ambassador to the Russian Federation from May 1993 to November 1996. He served as President of the Eurasia Foundation from December 1996 to April 1997. He also servedon assignments in Zanzibar and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

He holds the personal rank of Career Ambassador, the highest in the U.S. Foreign Service. He has held numerous other positions at the State Department, including executive secretary and special assistant to Secretaries Rogers and Kissinger and assistant secretary for the bureau of oceans, environmental and scientific affairs. He serves as Chairman and Director of Carnegie Corp. of New York. He serves as Member of Advisory Board of Eurasia Group. He served as a Director of Council on Foreign Relations Inc.
