Rhona S. Applebaum

Rhona S. Applebaum is Vice President and Chief Scientific and Regulatory Officer at The Coca-Cola Company where she leads the global Scientific and Regulatory Affairs department, developing and advancing science-based regulatory strategies, evidence-based research programs, and systems guidance on regulatory, food safety, nutrition and health issues and policies. Dr. Applebaum serves on the Science Advisory Board of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and is a member of the Institute of Medicine’s Food Forum. She also serves on the boards of the International Life Sciences Institute, the International Food Information Council, the University of Georgia’s Center for Food Safety and the University of Massachusetts (Amherst) Food Science Strategic Policy Alliance. Previously, she was Executive Vice President and Chief Science Officer for the National Food Processors Association. She received her undergraduate degree from Wilson College, her M.S. from Drexel University, and her Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin.
