Margaret G. McGlynn

President for Global Vaccines & Infectious Diseases, Merck & Co.


Margie McGlynn is the former President of Merck Vaccines and Infectious Diseases for Merck & Co., Inc.  She has responsibility for leading efforts to commercialize Merck’s vaccine and infectious disease products globally, including programs to assure access for relevant vaccine and HIV products in the developing world.  

Ms. McGlynn was promoted to President, Merck Vaccine Division, in August, 2005 and added responsibility for Merck's infectious disease business in September, 2007.  Ms. McGlynn joined Merck in 1983 and has served in a variety of marketing, sales and managed care roles, including a number of senior level assignments including President, U.S. Hospital and Specialty Products, Executive Vice President of Customer Marketing and Sales, Senior Vice President, Worldwide Human Health Marketing, and Senior Vice President, Health and Utilization Management at Merck-Medco.

Ms. McGlynn was raised in Upstate New York where she graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo with a B.S. in Pharmacy and a MBA in Marketing.

Margie currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors for Air Products and Chemicals.  She is also a member of the National Industrial Advisory Committee at the University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences and recently served as a member of the Global Alliance for Vaccine Immunization (GAVI) Board and Executive Committee.
